ABSTRACT

Pregnancy is a major event in a woman's life wherein the woman carries in her a growing fetus for the duration of nine months. Having a baby is one of the most joyous times in a woman's life. From anticipating the day you'll bring your little one home, to picking a name and nursery colors, the excitement is palpable. It is also the time where a woman's body goes through several changes to accommodate the baby's growth and prepare itself for birth. Third trimester is the time of most rapid growth of the unborn baby. Resources reserved for the mother is used for this purpose and
as a result of that, the mother should have adequate nutrition as well sleep and have proper exercise to be able to compensate the process that both of them are going through. This study is about the compliance of third trimester pregnant mothers to physical fitness in Barangay San Roque, Legazpi City. The study specifically sought answers to the following: 1. What is the demographic profile of the third trimester pregnant mothers in terms of: a. Age, b. Educational Attainment, c. Occupation? ; 2. What is the compliance of third trimester pregnant mothers to physical fitness in terms of: a. Exercise, b. Nutrition, c. Sleep? ; 3. What are the barriers to the compliance of third trimester pregnant mothers to physical fitness? ; and 4. What are the recommendations to be proposed to promote physical fitness among third trimester pregnant mothers? In order to gather the information needed for this study, a qualitative explanatory method was used which included one on one interviews with the participants: Key Informant Interview (KI), Direct Observation. These methods were used primarily to get the most direct, reliable and accurate information needed for this study; to get the deepest truth within the most reliable persons and sources. In doing this the participants' confidentiality was ensured. In order to be able to analyz the data gathered from the data were sorted out and grouped in to similarities interview different categories explaining and displaying its and differences. As a result, conclusions were made.
