This study aimed to assess the implementation of the Ecological Solid Waste Management Practices of the Residents of Barangay Puro, Legazpi City. There were 84 respondents in this study who were drawn out of the 537 households through random sampling. The gathered data were analyzed and interpreted with the use of frequency, percentage and ranking as the statistical tool. Specifically, this study sought answers to the following problems: 1.What is the profile of the respondents in terms of age,
educational attainment, family income, and family size? 2. What are the ecological solid waste practices of the respondents along hazardous and non-hazardous waste? 3. What problems are encountered in the Ecological Solid Waste Management? 4. What measures can be propose to sustain the Ecological Solid Waste Management practices of the respondents?

The study used the descriptive survey. They utilized a questionnaire checklist in gathering data as well as frequency, percentage and ranking. The demographic profile of the respondents showed that the majority of the respondents have age ranging approximately from 21 — 25 years old (14 or 16.7%), in educational attainment most of the respondents are elementary and high school graduates (24 or 28.6%), with an income ranging from PhP 1,000-5,000 monthly (55 or 65.5 %), and a family size composed of four (4) to six (6) members (48 or 57.14%). In terms of solid waste management practices of hazardous waste, the respondents said "Broken fluorescents are picked up by hard cardboard and placed on a sealed plastic. On the other hand, their practices with regard to non-hazardous waste revealed "Segregation of non-biodegradable and biodegradable materials" yielding (80 or 95.23%). This implies that majority of the respondents are actively participating in the implementation of RA9003 ordinance in their community through practicing proper waste segregation and disposal.

Majority of the respondents stated that the major concern they encountered in the practice of solid waste management was Poor attitude of the people towards proper solid waste management which ranked first. Still some residents or some of the barangay officials showed lack of discipline or disinterested on the existing ordinance. On the proposed measures afforded to solve and improve the solid waste management practices of the respondents was through programs for sustaining the cleanliness in the environment. Based on the findings and conclusion of the study, the following recommendation are hereby presented .Advise the persons with high educational attainment to disseminate latest updates regarding solid waste management. Provide health
education through the help of the Health Office of Legazpi, about the proper ways of disposing hazardous waste and the effect of improper disposal to the health and others ecological systems. Coordinate with the local government regarding the appropriate actions and disciplinary measures to be implemented to sanitary offenders and encourage people to practice proper solid waste handling. Intensify the campaign on the projects and programs that exist in the barangay through meetings and seminars with the help of the barangay officials. These existing nursing measures have already been used by different communities to solve and enhance their solid waste management practices. The importance of this should be implemented not just for a certain period of time but it should be on a daily basis.
